HOW CLAREVILLE DENTAL SURGERY HELPS OUR NERVOUS PATIENTS

Most people still feel a little bit nervous at the thought of going to the dentist. Here at Clareville Dental Surgery we fully appreciate and understand our patient’s fears.  We look at every individual’s specific concerns, and needs and treat them accordingly.  Do make sure to tell us that you are a nervous patient in order that we can help and reassure you through your treatment.  Some patients find it helpful to bring a capable friend along to your appointment, and we are more than happy for you to do this if you think it will help you.

Dental techniques have improved so much over the years and can be completely painless. Equipment and safety procedures are also better nowadays.  This, together with the friendly and relaxed atmosphere at our practice, will make ‘going to the dentist’ a much more pleasant experience.

Many people are scared of the needle we use to inject local anaesthetic.  Again, make sure you tell us that you feel uncomfortable. We can use anaesthetic gels on your gum so you do not feel the needle.

If you want the dentist to stop treatment just raise your hand, never move your head as we can hurt you. It is difficult to work on a moving target.   If you need a little break again just raise your hand and we will stop treatment till you are ready to start again.  You control the situation and hopefully this will raise your confidence in the dental chair.  Our primary concern is our patients comfort, and we will do all we can to work with you and reassure you during your treatment.

We would like to build a relationship of mutual trust and respect with our patients.  By getting to know you as a person will also help you relax. With a combination of kindness and gentleness we can do a great deal to make your dental treatment an acceptable and normal part of your life.
